Moving around...

Actually was able to get on a bit of a walk around today.  Leg's healing up nicely - a huge thanks to all that helped me arise from the stupidity called 'my leg' - from the local foreign to the local local physicians, to local Goan remedies and the wonderful 'bringers-of-meals-and-assorted-necessities' and visitors (you were wonderfully entertaining!) that were so kind to me.  Thanks Folks! You made this down time pretty upbeat from kindness.

Back in Agonda!

Well, it turns out it's only me to India this time - I had to delay setting up going until into January, so Anne decided she wanted to see Spring coming to Victoria (it arrives much earlier than anywhere else in Canada - we had crocuses (sp?) coming up in mid-Jan).
So....a bit of bad luck just literally 10 steps off the airplane in Goa (after a day's worth of uneventful flights).  Walking off the plane on the tarmac to a waiting bus with lots of people and bam! I slipped on the high metal bus step and slammed my shin on the edge.  Bleeding, pain and swearing!  I'm pretty hobbled with lots of pain and swelling and medicines, but not a bad place at all to recover.  Still - Damn!
The weather here in Agonda has been nicely warm during the day with nice breezes, and slightly cool and comfortable at night.  Godwin's place - Secret Garden - is quite lovely as usual, some really nice people (including a Canadian family moving soon to Victoria) staying there, and my usual haunt The Monsoon (http://india-2009-monsoon.blogspot.com/) is comfortable and cosy. Prices are up a bit overall from last year, but there have been lots of price increases for basics across India.
Again very happy to be sitting in the Monsoon Serai in just shorts and typing away.  Let's see where things go from here.

Some GoPro Hero time-lapse of the trip here:
